THE INFLUENCE OF ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOUR (OCB) TO EMPLOYEES’ WORK SATISFACTION IN PT AMICO ART AND CURIO SEMARANG

ABSTRACT

 

Many research conducted about the relationship between OCB and other factors, such as motivation and work satisfaction. It is not  too naïve to say that work satisfaction should be a determinant factor to deal with citizen’s obedience (OCB).

This study is aimed at finding out whether there is influence of OCB types: willingness to help other employees, citizen obedience and sportiveness simultaneously to the employees’ work satisfaction in PT Amico Art and Curio Semarang; and Seeking out the most dominant dimension regarding employees’ work satisfaction in PT Amico Art and Curio Semarang.

There are two techniques of data analysis applied in this study. They are descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The former is required to describe the gathered data regarding to the employment. The latter deals with the utilization of double linear regression.

Based on the analyses as displayed in the previous chapters, some conclusions are presented as follows. There are influence of OCB types: willingness to help other employees (X1), citizen obedience (X2) and sportsmanship (X3) simultaneously to the employees’ work satisfaction in PT Amico Art and Curio Semarang. The influence can be seen from the value of F observed (Fo) compared to the value of F table (Ft). Theoretically, when the value of F observed is higher than F table, it means that there is influence from independent variables to dependent variables. In this case the influence is significant in 0.05 degree. This shows that the research hypothesis is accepted.

Among the independent variables, the sportsmanship variable (X3) is the most dominant to determine employees’ work satisfaction (Y). With employment of t test, the value of t observed (3.778), which is higher than t table (1.980) shows the highest compared to the other independent variables.
